Retired Brush Truck M-578 was also a work horse for our department. For many years M-578 was the first apparatus to respond to all incidents due to being small and quick. It had a 250 gallon tank and many of the senior men have told stories about the amount of fires this rig knocked down prior to the arrival of the heavy apparatus. It was placed out of service in 2006 when we took delivery of our current M-578.
